Eddie Idris: From Bellbird Park to BK Academy
What started as an opportunity to reset and refocus has grown into an inspiring basketball journey for Bellbird Park’s own Eddie Idris.
Eddie joined the Brian Kerle Basketball BK Assist Program at Bellbird Park State High School, a program designed to support young people through sport, structure, and mentorship. For Eddie, it became more than just a program—it became the starting point of a new path.

Rather than slowing down, Eddie doubled down on his development. He stepped into the Brian Kerle Basketball Academy, where he balanced intensive basketball training with his studies.
That same year, Eddie achieved another milestone by completing his Diploma through the academy in partnership with Fit Education, showing that his commitment extended beyond the court and into his academic growth as well.
One of the highlights of Eddie’s season came at the end of the year when he was selected to travel on the Brian Kerle Basketball Taiwan Tour. Now, , Eddie continues to build on his momentum.
He is currently in his second year with the Academy and has earned a spot as a QSL Youth League training player with the Southern Districts Spartans.
Eddie’s journey is a powerful example of what can happen when opportunity meets effort. From a BK Assist participant to an academy athlete and Youth League training player, his story reflects the core mission of the program: helping young people reset their direction, build confidence, and chase bigger goals.
For Eddie Idris, the bounce back has truly turned into a breakthrough—and his basketball journey is only just getting started.
