Owls U12's Win QLD Club Championships

The BK Owls under 12 boys and girls teams have been crowned the best club teams in the state after winning the Queensland Junior Club Championships at the blistering hot Cornubia Park Sports Centre in Logan.

The girls, lead by 2024 Coach of the Year Cass Parker and Spirit of the Owl Award Winner Pat Cran got of a to a rocky start, losing their first two games.

But belief never wavered in our girls, as they bounced back on day 2 of the the tournament. The girls signature hands up defence and ball movement on the offensive end lead to some fantastic team wins.

We bounced back from an early loss to a. strong Lang Park Lions team to defeat them in the championship game.

The boys, lead by QSL and NBL1 Champion, and 2025 Owls COTY Darcy Ryder had some injuries early in their campaign. The boys stuck to the game plan that they trusted in their training. Their pressure and toughness lead to an undefeated run to the championship, with a 50-27 win in the grand final.

We are proud to say that these two teams also comprised of 10 foundation members of the club, which is a testament to the development pillar of our 3 core values.

The BK Owls Family was out in full force at Cornubia, with parents and families clapping their blue pool noodles and cheering on our teams on their run to the championship. That kind of support and passion is what our club is built on and we are so appreciate of it!

We are looking forward to competing in more competitions to give our young athletes an opportunity to have fun and get better together.
